Takinoyu Hotel (ほほえみの宿 滝の湯) invites you to experience one of the finest hot springs in Tendō Onsen. The hotel is renowned for its exceptional and spacious bathing facilities designed for deep relaxation.

Guests can fully unwind in the large indoor baths and the open-air hot springs, where you can enjoy the naturally pleasant and refreshing air while you soak. The water here is a gentle sulfate spring renowned for its purity and softness. It is often described as bihada no yu (water for beautiful skin) due to its soothing properties. Additionally, for the convenience of all international guests, Takinoyu Hotel is known to be welcoming to guests with tattoos, allowing access to the bathing facilities so everyone can fully enjoy the restorative warmth of their unique spring water.

Access from Tendō Station

  • On foot: Takinoyu Hotel is about a 15-minute walk from Tendō Station.
  • By local bus: Get off at Tendō Onsen (天童温泉). It is about a 3-minute walk from the bus stop to the hotel. Please note that not all buses departing from Tendō Station stop at Tendō Onsen, so please check your route before boarding. If you are unsure, simply ask the driver, “Tendō Onsen?” before getting on the bus. We recommend checking Google Maps or current local bus information for available routes and departure times.
    • Bus fare and payment: Yamako Bus services accept major transportation IC cards such as Suica, PASMO, and ICOCA. The fare from Tendō Station to Tendō Onsen is ¥220 on Yamako Bus. If paying in cash, please take a numbered ticket when boarding and pay the exact fare when getting off. Change is not given automatically, but the on-board change machine can be used for coins and ¥1,000 notes. Larger banknotes cannot be exchanged. Some other local bus services may have different fares and may require cash.

  • By taxi: Taxi stands are located at Tendō Station, although waiting times may vary. The ride to Takinoyu Hotel takes about 5 minutes and typically costs around ¥1,000, depending on traffic and other conditions.

Cash and card payments: Payment methods vary by restaurant and shop. Some smaller local restaurants and shops may not accept credit cards or other cashless payments, so we recommend carrying some Japanese yen in cash during your stay.
